Hailsham Community College celebrates best ever A Level results

Hailsham Community College is celebrating its best ever set of A Level results with 50% of students gaining the top grades of B or better and 100% of students who completed their courses being successful. 

The College hailed the results as providing a firm foundation for the continued development of Hailsham's Sixth Form College.

The highlights were:-

•    The percentage of students achieving the highest grades (A&B grades) was 50%

•    The percentage of students achieving A-C grades was 83%.

•    The overall pass rate of students completing courses was 100%.

The students were praised by the College's staff who said: "We are extremely proud of our continuing achievements from our comprehensive intake. This year's students have been extremely hard working and we are delighted with their results. More students than ever are moving on to university; a number are the first generation in their families to do so."

Lesley Farmer; Principal of HCC commented: "These results are excellent borne of a great deal of hard work on the part of students and staff and two years of encouragement, challenge and support from parents. Hearty congratulations to you all! You deserve it!"

In maths all students passed with 78% achieving A or B grades; similarly in English where 86% achieved C or better. Our strongest subject areas however were law where almost half of the students achieved A grades and the Btec subjects of sport, drama and Business where 34 of the 49 students achieved distinctions.
