"THE largest inland town in East Sussex" is perhaps not the most glamorous title for Crowborough to yearn to cling on to, despite the pride that may be attached to it.

But there are tangible implications to being overtaken by Hailsham and Uckfield.

Its representatives currently command respect at the district council – an important position that is in danger of being eroded.
