Eastbourne Magistrates Court have ordered a teenager who lashed out at a police officer, and a female member of the public, in Hailsham last month, to pay compensation to both.
The court heard that Max Zohrehie, who was half-naked at the time, was hallucinating after taking the banned substance LSD.
The 18 year-old, from Reading, believed he was dying and knocked on the door of the woman pleading for help. She gave him a blanket and tried to calm him but he then ran off towards a supermarket and assaulted the lady, who was on the phone to her partner, trying to grab the phone off of her.
Police were called to the scene and Zohrehie was escourted to a police car which he then jumped out of and was duly chased by attending officers.
He bit a police officer's arm and thumb and had to be captor sprayed.
In Eastbourne, Zohrehie pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug, assault by beating, assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty, criminal damage and obstructing a PC in the execution of their duty.
The court fined him £190 for possession of the drug and £50 for the criminal damage. For the three remaining offences he was fined £63 each and was ordered to pay £100 each in compensation to the lady and police officer he assaulted. The teenager was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
