An Eastbourne man working for a Hailsham firm was in hospital this week, fighting for his life, after being crushed by a lorry during a delivery.
Gary Prowse, a 39-year-ol driver for Drivers4U Southern Limited, suffered serious injuries on Monday afternoon at Bexhill Gearbox in Bexhill Road, St Leonards. He had been collecting scrap metal from the garage.
Paramedics attended the scene and Prowse was later flown to Royal Sussex County Hospital where he was described as being in a critical condition.
It is not clear how the accident happened.
Police sealed off the garage earlier this while they launched an investigation. Officers were only allowing workers in and out of the scene.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Emergency services were called to a commercial premises in Bexhill Road, St Leonards, after a 39-year-old man from Eastbourne was trapped under hydraulic equipment."
The Health and Safety Executive has launched its own investigation into the incident.
